Women in Construction

Last Wednesday, we attended our first day in the Women in Construction course at Miller TAFE.  A female tradie delineated her experience working in a male-dominated industry and encouraged us. Our instructor, Richard, provided us with a tour of the campus as well as the workshops where carpentry takes place.

It was very fascinating to get an insight into the process of the framework.  We were able to view the projects that were being manufactured by the current second and third-year TAFE students which caught our attention. Overall, we found the construction program at TAFE exceedingly beneficial and compelling and we look forward to attending more in the weeks to come.

We also thank Mr King for taking us and sorting out all the paperwork to allow us to attend such an enjoyable program.
