Operation Christmas Child

Thank you to all of the families who contributed to our Christmas Appeal to Samaritan’s Purse for Operation Christmas Child by filling the shoeboxes with gifts for young children overseas.  I am delighted to report that our Junior School collected 230 shoeboxes (over 4 times the amount we collected from last year!). It is so heart-warming to see how generous our school community is and I am sure that your gifts will bring a smile to many children’s faces this Christmas.

St Vincent De Paul Christmas Appeal

This year our College as a whole is once again supporting St Vincent De Paul / Claymore community through the Christmas hampers.

We are calling for donations of the following items in the Junior School:

Kindergarten – confectionary items
Year 1 – pasta, rice and pasta sauces
Year 2 – salad dressings, sauces, oils and meal bases
Year 3 – jams and spreads
Year 4 – long life milk, tea, coffee and hot chocolate
Year 5 – dessert mixes, cake and cupcake mixes
Year 6 – toiletry items

Thank you once again for your generosity towards our school initiatives.

Kindergarten Term 4

Kindergarten has certainly hit the ground running this term and there has been some wonderful learning taking place. Our Inquiry Unit this term focuses on “How we express ourselves”. We have explored expressing ourselves through dance, drama, music, art and writing. The children have enjoyed every part of this Unit and are confidently discussing how the different activities impact on their feelings. This Unit will also explore the way we express our beliefs, culture and values and will incorporate cultural celebrations and traditions. We look forward to diving further into our enquiry and seeing where the journey takes us.

“I like to express myself by writing a poem - you do that because you love somebody”- Oliver
“Expressing yourself means you show on the outside how you feel on the inside”- Xavier
“I do dancing to show I am happy”- Harper
“I can sing when I am happy”- Genesis
“The music made me feel mad, that’s why I painted warm colours”- Nathanael
“The Mexican hat dance was fun and made me feel happy”- Francesca
