Annual Carol Service

The Carol Service used to be held in the School Chapel but in 1984 it moved to St Patrick’s Cathedral as the Chapel was no longer able to accommodate the increasing student numbers. This photo comes from 1983, the last year the service was held at the School and includes boys who were students at Joigny.

Nativity Baby Jesus

The wax doll has a family pedigree of early RSCJ history – given by Reverend Mother Goetz (the 2nd Superior General of the Society of the Sacred Heart) to Rev Mother Vercruysse, who came to Sydney as the first Australian Superior. It was then given to Rev Mother Margaret Moran for Burke Road and used here for the first time in 1893.

Can you please help to add to our archive collection?

We are always appreciative when alumnae are able to donate or loan precious items to the school for the archives collection.

We would especially love to receive some more photos and memorabilia from the 1970s.

Photos can be scanned and returned to you.
