School Council

Kii TPS Community!

As our crazy year draws closer to the end, we can appreciate the simple things in life like community connection.

Community connection is especially important at TPS. It encourages tolerance and understanding across the community, and supports our children’s learning and play. We look forward to rebuilding community connections in 2021 and beyond in COVID Safe ways.

We encourage you to get involved through any of the TPS Council teams: Social, Enviro, Communications, OSHC, Traffic Management.

The range is so families have more flexible options in regards to fabrics, price point, equity and accessibility.

  • Items from our 'Deadly Threads' in house range
    • NAIDOC t-shirts
    • Deadly Hoodies
    • Woollen Royal Blue Winter Tunics

    • PSW Uniform supplier for all other royal blue logo-ed uniform items, including hats.
  • Students may also wear plain royal blue t-shirts and tops, and black pants/shorts/skorts or blue and white gingham shift dresses from a generic store. This is so families have more flexible options in regards to fabrics, price point, equity and accessibility.
  • A royal blue broad brimmed hat, or legionnaire style royal blue hat (TPS logo-ed from PSW or generic.
  • Closed toe shoes are required for safety. No slip on shoes, sandals or thongs.

TPS Council aims to finalise the full illustrated uniform policy and guide in 2021, after delays due to Covid-19 in 2020.

Second Hand Uniforms

The Second hand uniform stall and NAIDOC t-shirt sales were a huge success at Henderson Park. Thanks to everyone who donated or purchased uniforms. All gold coin donations for the second hand uniform items, and profits from the NAIDOC t-shirts go toward subsidising uniforms for TPS students in need. Huge thanks to Yaz Ash for organising the event, Megan Noy, and all helpers on the day.

Deadly Threads - We are in the process of setting up online sales for our TPS in house items, under the banner of 'Deadly Threads'. This covers NAIDOC t-shirts, Deadly Hoodies and Woollen tunics. It’s taking a bit of time to get the details right, so please be patient.

Our remaining stock of NAIDOC t-shirts is only in sizes 12,14 &16. There will be no extra supply of these t-shirts in the near future.

TPS Council is moving the production of the NAIDOC t-shirts to an ethical supplier, and investigating social procurement using a local Indigenous Business. The licensing and copyright issues around the use of the Aboriginal Flag also impacts on our production of NAIDOC tees and Deadly Hoodies. We aim to have these t-shirts in time for NAIDOC 2021 celebrations.

PSW continues to sell the royal blue logo-ed uniform pieces via their online store. We will update any return to onsite sales via Compass. PSW are currently selling items with old and new TPS logos. The old logo items are at a discount price until sold out and will remain acceptable uniform.

DEEPEST GRATITUDE

TPS Council sends a message of sincere gratitude to all TPS staff for all their hard work and amazing efforts during 2020. Teaching and being part of running a school can be a challenging job at the best of times, but under Covid-19 restrictions, remote learning, and the challenges of returning to school it’s been a really tough gig. Thanks.

KIDS AND FAMILIES

Remember to take care of yourselves and each other, it’s still a difficult time, even if it’s getting less restricted. If you have any concerns about your child don’t hesitate to get in touch with the school, by phone or email.

Your TPS Councillors,

Yaz, Renee, Mel, Megan, Matthias, Lucy, Leon, Jess and Charles
