Homework

Homework for  Year 3/4  will continue to consist of 4 components:

  1. Spelling – A minimum of  3 spelling activities must be completed every week.
  2. Mathematics - Activities will be related to units of work being studied. The children will complete activities, reinforcing the particular mathematical skills, as well as the language used for those skills.
  3. Reading – All children are required to read 5 nights a  week for at least 15 - 20  minutes

This must be recorded in their diary with the book title and the page numbers read.

Eg:

  • ‘13 Story Treehouse’ pgs 1-25. ‘
  • ‘13 Story Treehouse’: pgs 26-50’

Children are required to bring their diary to school every day to be checked and signed.

At different times throughout the year, the children will be given a project to complete over a 2-3 week period. At this time, there will be changes to the homework format.

We will continue our  regular check-in with you, about your child's learning as requested by you (fortnightly, monthly or as  needed)  from our  initial emails. Please let us know if your check-in preference has changed.
