Homework
Homework for Year 3/4 will continue to consist of 4 components:
- Spelling – A minimum of 3 spelling activities must be completed every week.
- Mathematics - Activities will be related to units of work being studied. The children will complete activities, reinforcing the particular mathematical skills, as well as the language used for those skills.
- Reading – All children are required to read 5 nights a week for at least 15 - 20 minutes
This must be recorded in their diary with the book title and the page numbers read.
Eg:
- ‘13 Story Treehouse’ pgs 1-25. ‘
- ‘13 Story Treehouse’: pgs 26-50’
Children are required to bring their diary to school every day to be checked and signed.
At different times throughout the year, the children will be given a project to complete over a 2-3 week period. At this time, there will be changes to the homework format.
We will continue our regular check-in with you, about your child's learning as requested by you (fortnightly, monthly or as needed) from our initial emails. Please let us know if your check-in preference has changed.
