Term 1 Dance

Students in Years Prep, 1, 2, 5 and 6 have had a highly successful term studying dance in Performing Arts. Prep students learnt the 'Bondi Boogie' and created their own dances with scarves. Years One and Two learnt a variety of international dances such as the Italian Tarantella, Vietnamese Tet Children's dance, a Bollywood style dance 'Chunnari' and created their own versions. Years Five and Six students studied Indigenous Dance and created their own inspired choreography featuring the movements of Australian animals.

All students had the opportunity to learn a dance routine with Stomp! Dance Company and perform on the stage. The Prep performances on Tuesday and the Year 1 and 2 dance showcase on Wednesday this week were outstanding, with every student actively participating and engaged. Thank you to the parents who came along to watch and also join in with the dancing. The students appreciated having an audience.

Years 3 to 6 students enjoyed their Stomp! workshop day back in February.

Next term, Performing Arts will have a Music focus.
