Energy Breakthrough

2023 Energy Breakthrough

Human Powered Vehicle Challenge

Kingswood Primary School will once again participate in the Energy Breakthrough.  This year the event will run from Wednesday November 22 to Sunday November 26. Interested Students and their families should nominate their interest via this link.

Details of the event are available on the official website www.eb.org.au and the featured goals are to:

  • Encourage young people to explore solutions to environmental and transport issues
  • Provide an opportunity for schools and communities to work and learn together
  • Provide an opportunity for women and girls to participate in what has traditionally been a ‘male’ dominated area of the curriculum
  • Be a fun program with real world challenges
  • Offer students opportunities to explore and address vehicle design, driving skills and vehicle and passenger safety issues

The KPS Human Powered Vehicle Racing Team, The Shooting Stars, is a parent-lead program that enables Year 5 and Year 6 students the opportunity to be part of this unique event.  Teams must learn about and apply sustainable vehicle technologies, performance training and nutrition, vehicle design and construction, safe driving techniques, teamwork and respect.

An information night for all interested families will be held on Wednesday 26th of April in the school library at 6pm.
