Teacher - Visual Communication Design
Students of VCE Unit 1 Visual Communication Design students have jumped into the wonderful world of technical drawing!
Technical drawings are drawing methods used by designers and architects to best illustrate their design ideas. Students are taught by myself and Nicki Brook to work through a range of technical drawing methods including perspective, paraline, orthogonal and observational.
During this unit, VCD students begin to understand the way
in which designers draw and why they do so.
Two-point perspective maze drawings have been one of the more difficult drawings to complete, though students have risen to the challenge and achieved some terrific results. Through this unit, students will also use Lego to construct complicated shapes and draw these in isometric and planometric views.
Once students have a good understanding of these technical drawing methods will be able to confidently move onto VCE Unit 2 VCD, and illustrate their ideas for their dream house design.
For more information about VCD studies, VCE study design, learning pathways and career opportunities, feel free to contact teachers Simone Goddard and Nicki Brook. We love to talk all things design!
