Lest We Forget
Melbourne Commemoration Ceremony
On the 5th of April a group of Year 7 students were chosen to attend the Melbourne Legacy 91st ANZAC Commemoration Ceremony at the Shrine of Remembrance in Melbourne. This special commemoration service honours Australia’s brave service men and women through the eyes of the young, with student guest speakers, school bands and Defence Force cadets, proudly supported by Legacy’s patron, the Governor of Victoria, and dignitaries.
This valuable opportunity saw us join other secondary and primary school students from across Victoria, to commemorate and recognise the sacrifices made by the brave men and women who have served our country. Our students exemplified our school values and were a credit to themselves and the school.
Two students were selected to lay a wreath at the eternal flame. Our group had the opportunity to visit the Shrine gallery, where we had a tour provided to us by an informative volunteer who had served in the armed forces.
The funding for our bus, morning tea and lunch was kindly donated by Dianne from Ararat Legacy and the day coordinated by Kevin from Ararat College. We are incredibly appreciative of their time and generosity in affording our students this fantastic opportunity.

Beaufort ANZAC Day March and Service
Each ANZAC Day students from BSC attend the Beaufort and Skipton ANZAC services as representatives of our school. Some assist as flag bearers for the ceremony, while our School Captains lay a wreath in honour of those who went to war and fought for our freedom. We recognise the importance of this sacred day within the community and are honoured to have our students participate.
BSC Commemorative Assembly
Friday the 28th May saw us hold our annual ANZAC Assembly in front of special guests; School Council President, Damian Ferrari, Beaufort RSL President, Don Carnes, Beaufort Primary School Principal Tameeka Rush and Beaufort Primary School, School Captains, Megan Fraser and Max Kehoe.
BSC School Captains, Bria Moodie and Jazz Tiley, Sports Captain, Emma Thompson and Sports Vice-Captain, Riley Burrill, delivered moving speeches to the Assembly, sharing anecdotes from some of the country's war veterans, allowing students the chance to stop and take a moment to remember our ANZACs and reflect on why the history surrounding them is so important. Well done to students on their outstanding behaviour during this time.
