Careers Update

'Creating Futures Together'

Year 12 Interviews

The start of term two has been very busy in the Careers Department. Year 12 one to one Career Conversation interviews are in full swing.  It has been very encouraging to see that many students are focused on their future pathways which include careers in areas such as, Paramedicine, Nursing, Computer Science, Exercise Sports Science, Building Trades, Hospitality and Performing Arts, just to name a few😊

After each appointment summary emails are sent to each student so that they can reflect on the conversation and action items that will lead them closer to making an informed decision about their future.  I strongly encourage Year 12 students to review this email and reach out for further support when needed.

Year 10 Work Experience

This term Year 10 students have been working on getting themselves ready to go out on Work Experience which takes place from Monday 19th June – Friday 23rd June.  All work experience documentation is due on Friday 5th May and needs to be submitted at the school office.  Please head to the WHSC careers website to download any outstanding documents: https://www.whsccareers.com/workplace-learning/required-documents

There is a power of work that needs to be completed behind the scenes in order to get students ready for their placement. I would like to take this opportunity to thank my colleague Georgina Walton for assisting me with this important work and also thank the Futures teachers who have helped students to prepare.
