13s Basketball – Rescheduled Trial

As you would be aware, last Saturday’s 13s Basketball trials were cancelled given the number of Year 7 boys who were required to isolate. To grade and select teams evenly, it’s necessary that we reschedule last week’s trial to this Saturday 4 December, from 7:30 AM to 9:30 AM at Netball Central.

In accordance with Dr Lavorato’s communication to Year 7 families, students who were notified as a ‘casual’ or ‘close’ contact and are scheduled to trial for 13s Basketball, are only to attend if:

  • they were considered a casual contact and have returned a negative covid test result
  • they were considered a close contact who is vaccinated and have returned two negative COVID-19 test results from Day 1 and Day 6.

Unfortunately, if your son was considered a close contact and is not vaccinated, he cannot attend the 13s Basketball Trials on Saturday 4 December as he will be required to complete 14 days of isolation. If your son falls into this category, could I ask that you please notify Ms Apostolou (MIC Basketball) by 9:00 AM Friday 3 December so other arrangements can be made. Even those students who have been using Rapid Antigen Home Tests (RAHT) to attend school are also not allowed to attend the Basketball trials.

Term 1 Summer Training Schedules

Summer Sports training is due to commence on the first day back for Term 1, 31 January 2022. Baseball and Cricket training schedules have been posted on Team App under the ‘Documents’ tab. The Basketball training schedule will be uploaded in the coming week as we wait for external venues to confirm court bookings.

Term 1 Summer Sports Draws

Before Christmas, Summer Season Draws for Term 1 will be made available via Team App or the College website on the ‘Sporting’ page. (By following the link, you will be able to scroll through the list of various sports and view selections via tabs at the bottom). Please note, times and venues are subject to change right up until hours before the scheduled fixtures take place. This is due to a variety of reasons, not least of all the weather. It is also important to note that TBA or TBC should not be interpreted as a Bye.

During the holiday break, boys in the NDJCA and RHBL teams are reminded to check Team App or the relevant association websites for fixture details. As such, the association, times, and venues are subject to change up to and including the morning of the fixture/s.

For NDJCA Cricket teams, please check the NDJCA website for updated draws and fixtures venues via the following link.

For RHBL Baseball teams, please check the RHBL website for updated draws and fixtures venues via the following link.
