Co-curricular - Junior Sport

Junior Sport

With only a few days left to go in the school year, it is a great time to reflect and take stock of what has been done and achieved. It is often at these moments that hindsight creeps in, and we think about what could have been and what if? Yes, this has been an unprecedented year, even more extreme than 2020. We have missed out on some opportunities and others that we were afforded didn’t have the same feel or sense of occasion. However, at this moment, when it is all said and done, what we all deserve is a huge pat on the back; a pat on the back for making it through remote learning and still being able to talk to each other; a pat on the back for working hard to keep our learning alive and fruitful; and a pat on the back for creating and taking hold of every opportunity available. So, when looking back on this year, be proud of all that you have achieved and what was accomplished.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those involved in the Junior School Co-curricular Program this year. To Mr Fochesato, Mr Calavassy and all the Junior School Staff, thank you for your support of the program and the boys, for your time in ensuring the boys had the best experience possible. Whether it be through planning, coaching, or running programs, your assistance has helped guarantee another successful year for the Junior School.

To all our external coaches, old boys, parents, and carers that took time out of their schedules to help with a team or squad, thank you for your time and efforts with the boys. They are all the better for your involvement, and I am sure if the opportunity presented itself would thank you on mass for your assistance.

To all our parents and carers that spend their afternoons and weekends ferrying their sons to and from training and around Sydney for games, thank you for all that you do to support all the Junior School Teams. Without your commitment, we simply wouldn’t have a Co-curricular program.

Finally, to all the boys in the Junior School, thank you for all your efforts on and off the field this year. Your efforts and commitment to sport this year has helped continue the outstanding reputation that St Patrick’s College enjoys.

I wish everyone a safe and Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year. To all our boys finishing Year 6, I wish you nothing but the best as you embark on a new journey in the Senior School. To our returning students in Year 5, I hope you are excited to become the new leaders of the Junior School in 2022.

Stay safe and here’s to an exciting, more settled 2022.
