A MID-YEAR NOTE FROM MUSICLAND

One of the highlights of Term 2 was the music camp. Again we had a number of visiting tutors, amongst them: Graham Morgan: drums, Doug De Vries: guitar and two of our ex-students: Nick Kyritsis and Joshua Manusama. Nick and Josh are currently studying music at Monash University and are really enjoying pursuing their musical studies. It was great having them back here and seeing the progress they had made in their knowledge and practice of music.

We were also involved in many excursions and performances in Musicland. These included:

  • Chaplaincy dinner: VCE band
  • Eastern Metropolitan Regional Concert at     Hamer Hall: Advanced guitar ensemble
  • Anzac Day ceremony
  • Royal Melbourne Hospital Well-Being             Festival: Chinese Ensemble, String Orchestra and Advanced Guitars
  • A number of year level and whole school     assemblies.
  • Lunchtime concerts.
  • The midyear, half-time, concert
  • Rock in Your Lunchbox

As I write this, production rehearsals are well under way and the ten students and music staff in the production band are rehearsing hard to make this the best musical ever. The music is challenging and technically demanding, but is very memorable and we hope to have you dancing in the aisles.

See you all next term at Guys and Dolls -

and all our other performances!
