BIGGEST MORNING TEA...

... AT KEW HIGH SCHOOL

On Friday 23 May, staff at Kew High School held a Biggest Morning Tea at recess in the main staffroom to raise money for the Cancer Council. Our school’s involvement in the Biggest Morning Tea was begun by Cathie Volpe about five years ago. Cathie, a long-time teacher at Kew High School, was fighting cancer at the time, and, tragically, she passed away in August 2012.

Our morning tea was held to support those staff and their families who have been affected by cancer, and to remember Cathie. With the staffroom decked out in blue and yellow, and the tables loaded with good things to eat, it was a very enjoyable event. This year we were delighted to have Pauline Volpe, Cathie’s sister, as a guest. Thanks to the generosity of our staff, we raised $1011 for the Cancer Council.
