Scholastic Book Fair News

It's Finally Here!

After being cancelled in 2020 due to lockdown restrictions, and being rescheduled three times in 2021 for the same, we are very excited to announce that we can finally hold our Scholastic Book Fair!

The Scholastic Book Fair is a much-loved institution at many schools, including Scoresby PS, and we look forward to being able to give families the opportunity to browse and purchase a selection of wonderful children's books.

The Book Fair will arrive at Scoresby PS on Thursday, 25th November, with a Preview Day for all classes on Friday 26th November; it will be open to the school community for sales in the school Library between Monday 29th November and Wednesday 1st December - 8.30-9.00am and 3.30-4.00pm each day.  Posters with sale times will be placed around the school next week.  In addition, each student will receive a flyer giving a preview of just some of the titles available to purchase from the Book Fair.

Entry by parents to the Book Fair is subject to the DET's COVID-safe guidelines, which, at this current time, means that parents MUST:

- enter the school via the Office

- be double-vaccinated and show their certificate

- check in with the QR code

- use hand sanitiser prior to entering the Book Fair

- wear a face mask at all times whilst in the Book Fair

It is also possible that numbers allowed in the Book Fair space will be limited (in which case, families may need to be prepared to wait), however we are hoping that there will be changes to this restriction prior to opening sales day.  Any DET COVID-safe guidelines are subject to change and we will notify the community if any changes affect attendance at the Book Fair.

In addition, attached to the Book Fair flyer, will be clear instructions for parents on how they can pay for Book Fair purchases online if they are unable to attend the Book Fair in person.

The Book Fair is a fantastic opportunity for parents, students and teachers to see many current books by popular authors and illustrators of books for young readers.  Proceeds from the fair will help Scoresby PS to generate funds to increase our selection of reading materials for the school.
