Planning for 2022

Dear Families,

Next week on Monday is a Curriculum Day for all students.  These days are important as they allow staff to engage in Professional Learning centered around various aspects of teaching, pedagogy and curriculum delivery. Next week our staff will be working on mapping the curriculum that will be taught to students across 2022 from Prep - Year 6.

Laying these foundations prior to the beginning of the 2022 school year allows collaborative conversations to take place and builds consistency of practice and content from Prep - Year 6.  Our curriculum leaders also use these opportunities to deepen our teacher's knowledge of the curriculum and the evidence-based practice that achieves the best learning outcomes for all students.

Our English and Mathematics Leaders will also work closely with the junior, middle and senior teams on aligning the various genres and concepts taught across the school for next year in addition to identifying the assessment tools we will use to track and monitor student learning.  From this, the Leadership Team will be able to develop a rigorous and relevant professional learning schedule for the coming year which drives improvement in teacher practice and student outcomes.

I hope you all enjoy the slightly longer weekend; I'm sure the students will need it after what has been a busy week of swimming lessons.

with best wishes,

Peta Overbury
