Dear Families
We are coming to the end of another year and there are many things to be grateful for. As we prepare to come together with families and friends and possible adventures travelling once more, it is important that we take some time to stop and thank ourselves for what what we have achieved. This is another jammed packed newsletter for you to read through and be aware of the notices.

Shade Sails Grant
The school's application for the Shade Sails grant has been successful and is currently in the process of confirming the works to be carried out. The Shade sails would be an extension of the Pavilion double doors facing The Green area and up to the veggie garden. This would facilitate a protected area for learning and recreational activities.
PFA News
Last Tuesday night the PFA held its AGM and was able to form an interim committee.
The exiting Co Presidents, Troy Fryar and Scott Sinclair, are to be congratulated for the determination, eagerness and solidarity they brought to their important roles and responsibilities. In their two years tenure Melbourne faced six lockdowns but this did not deter Troy and Scott from trying to hold events for the school community so that everyone could come together. However, the events that were held were successful because of the effort that their committee members gave back to the community.
Thank you Troy and Scott for the last two years as co presidents.
Congratulations to the new interim committee whose members are as follows:
President - Matt Lumsden Vice President - Rosaline Natale
Secretary - Kate Buick Treasurer - Wes Folkard
General Members - Troy Fryar, Scott Sinclair, Jane Magree, Natalie Mandes,
Working Bee Coordinator - Greg Stewart
The committee still requires more members for it to work effectively so please see if you can spend an hour or two a few times each term to become part of a group of parents who want to bring the community back together once more.
Carols Night
Please keep Wednesday 8 December from 6.00pm free for the tradition Carol's Night and Picnic. More information will be sent out shortly.
Advent
This weekend sees the start of the Advent Season in the Liturgical calendar. Advent is a reminder for us to prepare for the celebration of the Birth of Jesus on Christmas Day.
Advent comes from the Latin word which means "coming". It is a time when we prepare for the coming of Jesus by praying, attending mass, lighting candles and reflecting on our faith journey. We light a candle on a wreath symbolising each week with a message of Hope, Peace, Joy and Love! It is written that at this time Mary and Joseph were preparing for the birth of Jesus.
Sincerely yours
Margaret Carlei
Principal
A Prayer for Advent
This Christmas, Lord, come to the manger of my heart.
Fill me with Your presence from the very start.
As I prepare for the holidays and gifts to be given,
Remind me of the gift You gave
when You sent Your Son from Heaven..
Term Four 2021 finishes Thursday 16 December at 1.30pm
