EY ART

Just Imagine

Heart for Cambodia

This year all the Early Years students worked together to create two collages.  These were entered into an Art Exhibition held at the Meat Market to raise money for schooling for disadvantaged children in Cambodia.

We used various techniques to create texture and colour for our collage.  Some included; using glad wrap, bubble wrap, sponges to apply our paint by dabbing, pulling and pushing and adding sand to paint.  We also completed rubbings using mesh, cut up cardboard and cardboard that had been ripped.

For our first piece, Students cut circles from our painted papers and collaged into an outline of a khmer kite. In Cambodia, kite flying is a very popular pass time and is an important part of Cambodian culture. It is entitled ‘Imagine if we all Spread Rainbows’.  Our second piece was collaged into the shape of a heart and is entitled ‘Just Imagine’.
