Year 3 Camp

Year 3 Gundiwindi Camp

Day One

By Shayla and Addison

On the 5th of September we were excited because it was camp day. We were playing for a bit then we lined up in our home groups. It was a 1 hour and 50 minute drive to Gundiwindi Lodge.

When we got off the bus, we met the staff at the camp. Tracey talked to us about where we were allowed to go and not allowed to go. We found out our cabin partners and after that we ate our lunch.

After our cabins were set up we went to find out what our groups were and what the activities would be. The activities included the giant swing, nature walk, rope courses and survival skills. The giant swing was really scary but it was an amazing experience because we had never done it before. This was our favourite activity because it went really fast.  In survival skills, we had to make a house out of sticks then Kitty poured a bucket of water over it to see if it was waterproof. Ours leaked a lot!

After we got back we got changed and had dinner - it was pasta with a choice of different sauces – tomato, bolognese or creamy bacon. Then we had dessert. It was jelly with ice-cream. After we cleaned up we went on the night walk and we roasted marshmallows. We were so tired and we went straight to bed.

Day Two and Three

by Jordyn and Ayisha

On Thursday we had many amazing activities. There was Archery, Damper Making, Flying Fox and an Obstacle Course. At night we watched the movie The Lion King. After that we were all very tired so we went to bed.

On Friday we got ready to go home. We packed up our cabins and had breakfast. We got on the bus that took us to Lilydale Lake. First we did a walk around the lake and then we came back and had fruit, a sandwich and popcorn for lunch. Then the teachers handed out awards and finally we went back to school. We had a lot of fun on camp!
