Premiers Reading Challenge

Congratulations!

Since March, we have had students across both campuses participating in the Premiers Reading Challenge, a challenge set by the Victorian Department of Education. Regular reading from an early age is vital for success at school and has lifelong benefits. The challenge encourages children to read more and promotes a love of reading.

Students in Prep to Year 2 were required to read 30 books, 20 of which needed to be included in the set challenge books list. Students in Year 3- Year 9 were required to read 15 books, of which 10 needed to be included in the set challenge book list.

We are pleased to be able to congratulate over 200 students from The Lakes who completed the challenge by enjoying and logging the required number of books.

There will be an online Honour Roll featuring a congratulatory video published on the Challenge website in October and Certificates will be issued in November.

Congratulations again and look out for Premiers Reading Challenge information to participate in 2019!
