Secondary Sport

Term 3 saw some fantastic sporting achievements at The Lakes. Congratulations to all students in Year 7- Year 9 who have represented The Lakes at various sporting events in this term. We’re extremely proud of the way you represent our school in an exemplary fashion, going above and beyond, to not only compete but to help others in the community.

Whittlesea Division Athletics Competition

We took a talented and competitive team of students to the Whittlesea Division Athletics competition. It was an extremely successful day with many students placing in the top 3. A big congratulations to Chloe T, Tavite L, Tinese C, Raafi A, Clayton J, Conor M and Darren Q for progressing through to the Northern Metro Region Finals.

Northern Metro Region Athletics Finals

Congratulations to Chloe T who placed 3rd in both the 80m Hurdles and 100m sprint. Raafi A who has never competed in Javelin before this year however placed 3rd in Javelin and Tavite L who came 2nd in Shot Put.

Northern Metro Region Girls Soccer Final

Congratulations to the Year 7 Girls Soccer Team that progressed through to the Northern Metro Region Finals. In tough conditions, the team showed fantastic determination and teamwork, in 3 extremely close matches, the girls came away with a draw and 2 narrow losses.

Basketball

Our Year 8 Basketball teams competed very well, with both teams finishing 3rd in the competition. What was most impressive was the teamwork, sportsmanship and school values that our students displayed on the day.
