Schools in Sync (MAD)

Schools in Sync

This term, on the 21st of August, the 7-9 MAD students had the awesome opportunity to represent The Lakes at the Schools in Sync dance competition here in Whittlesea.

We trained hours on end each week to prepare our Hip-Hop piece that we performed at the Mill Park Basketball stadium. After heaps of preparation it was finally time to showcase what we had been working on these past few months.

Nerves rushed as we entered the stage and then the music began. Each of us gave it our all and had a blast performing our dance. Our hard work had paid off and we had won first place in our category, Hip-Hop. We were all over the moon with our achievement! Another cool experience that was a part of the competition, was participating in 3 dance workshops, Jazz, Lyrical and Hip-Hop.

It was extremely beneficial to be able to work with other schools and dance all day. It provided us with new skills and experience working with different choreographers and in different styles of Dance. Our overall experience at Schools in Sync was amazing and each one of us enjoyed working on our dance, performing it and spending the day gathering new information on dance! A big thank you from all of our students goes to our choreographer Jemma Craig, and dance teacher Aimee Freind for making this exciting opportunity possible.
