Christmas Drive

During the Transition period at our College we welcomed the Year 12 class of 2018 and we invited them to participate in the Annual Christmas Drive for Charity. The College is spporting both Ozanamn House and McAuley House.
The aim was to donate In light of our College theme, Faith = Words + Action, we are all encouraged to respond in a way to help those who are struggling, or who might not be able to help themselves as the smallest gestures can make the biggest difference.
As we are coming towards the season of Advent and we prepare for Christmas we would like to support Ozanam House and McAuley House.
- Ozanam House is a short term residence for homeless men that the college has been supporting for the past 16 years.
- McAuley House is refuge for women fleeing domestic violence that the College has been supporting now for 5 years.
Each year CRC Sydenham donates non-perishable goods to these refuges such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, toiletries, simple clothing and children’s basic needs so that everyone has the opportunity to open a gift at Christmas.
We ask that everyone donates simple toiletries by bringing them to tutor and placing them in your tutor's designated bag. The SLG will assist in coordinating this cause and spreading the word. Our deadline is the end of Step up program.
The Christmas Donation Drive was very successful and both staff and students supported the cause. It was wonderful to observe such giving and to actually see Faith = Words + Action and what that can bring to the less fortunate than ourselves.
