Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back to Term 3. I hope you had some quality time with family and friends, and had a chance to recharge your mind and body ready for another great term of learning.

Maria has asked that you also bring along a candle to light during our prayer.

These faith workshops are a time to learn more about the Sacrament of Confirmation and an opportunity to engage in dialogue with your child about your own experience of Confirmation. It is compulsory that all students and at least one parent or carer attend this workshop. Annette, our Religious Education Leader will give everyone specific information regarding the Confirmation evening.  The Sacrament of Confirmation will be celebrated Friday August 5th at 6:30pm.

Parent Faith Workshop Foundation and Year One - PARENTS AND CARERS ONLY

All Foundation and Year One Parents or Carers are asked to attend a Parent ONLY faith workshop on Wednesday July 20 at 7pm. Please place this in your calendar. Further details will be sent to you this week. This workshop will be in the SLA hall and after the evening will be a time to connect with families in your child's year level with a cup of tea.

Long Service Leave

To all the families at St Fidelis, I will be on leave from Wednesday July 27 and returning on Friday 2nd September.  This leave has come about due to my daughter’s selection to represent Australia in this year's Commonwealth Games in Netball. The games will be held in Birmingham, England.

My hope is to also have the opportunity to visit the only other St Fidelis School in the world in Bexley UK to make a connection with them and the Mercy house in Dublin.

My husband and I will spend a couple of weeks visiting family in Italy. I will be fortunate enough to go to Rome and visit the Vatican where I will pray for all the St Fidelis families.

In the last week, I will also be attending the Northern Region Principals' conference in Darwin where we continue our Professional Learning about Indigenous Cultures.

Vira Pirotta will be acting Principal in my absence.  Annette Gasbarro & Michael Jennings will share the acting Deputy Principal roles supported by Sally Lentini, member of our school Leadership Team. I thank them for their willingness to take on this responsibility during  leave.
