Health Centre News

Students will be sent home with this week with a box of rapid antigen tests. At this stage we are still waiting for the Department of Education and Training to advise whether the supply of free rapid antigen tests will continue into Term 3.

At present the guidelines are to test twice a week for all primary school students and staff. For those who are household contacts, testing should be daily before school (5 tests over 7 days) - this includes staff and students.

We have also had a lot of children and their families affected by the flu. Reminding your child the importance of respiratory and hand hygiene is so important in helping to reduce the spread of viruses.  If your child is unwell, please allow them to rest at home until they are better.

Further information can be found on the RCH Influenza fact sheet-    https://www.rch.org.au/kidsinfo/fact_sheets/Influenza_the_flu/

Thank you to everyone for continuing to let the school know if your child is affected by COVID - either as a household contact, or they obtain a positive result.

If you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.

I hope you all stay healthy and well at this time.

Warm regards,

Nurse Cecile
