Year 10- Expo Excursion

 Year 10 Careers EXPO Excursion

On the 15th of July the Year 10 group headed to the Melbourne Careers Expo in Docklands.

This event is a crucial part of the students’ career and subject selection exploration before heading into Year 11 and 12.  It was also important to re-acquaint us with the crowds. Wow it was busy!

This was also the first excursion as a group since Year 7 due to the pandemic,  and it was amazing to be in the city as a group.

Our bus driver missed the bus parking turnoff, so he dropped us at the front entrance where we rested on the Exhibition Centre steps. A few quick photos and we were ready to brave the crowds.

Once inside,  students were given a map of the venue and they headed off to have the crucial chats about pathways, employment opportunities, tertiary study locations and entry requirements.

We chatted to providers from tertiary institutions, employers, government agencies, and the many students from other schools who were there at the same time as us.

Along with lots of information booklets and pamphlets, students returned with expanded knowledge around possible career options. We also picked up the free lollies, stress balls, pens, and notepads.

Thanks Year 10. You were a pleasure to take on this excursion.

We look forward to the year level camp next term.
