Team Vic Success, Hamish Dunne!

I am delighted to share the news that Hamish Dunne (6A) is the latest elite sportsman from BPS to be selected into a Team Vic squad after Riley Stratford (AFL) and Lachlan King (Tennis) in 2021.

Last week Hamish attended the State Cross Country Championships in Yarra Glen and finished in 7th place out of 93 runners to post a time of 11mins 18 secs for the 3km course.

Hamish will attend the National Cross Country Championship in Adelaide on August 26th (on his birthday!) as first emergency as the first 6 finishers automatically qualify to compete against the country’s finest athletes.

What is even more remarkable is that Hamish will tell you that his first sport of choice is AFL and he really enjoys his Basketball but he does not do Little Athletics and does not train for middle distance running. It is incredible that Hamish has got to this level relying on determination, focus guts and heart!! 

Hamish says that his inspiration is his family and friends and we all are so proud of his progress. Enjoy the privilege of wearing the Team Vic uniform Hamish and enjoy the camaraderie that the team experience affords.
