From Principal Steve  - Parent Teacher Conferences

This week the school has conducted parent-teacher conferences. The purpose of these conferences is:

• To provide parents with an opportunity to discuss their child’s Semester 1 report
• To allow the teacher to share areas of growth in student learning and suggest next steps for future learning
• To continue to build strong home and school partnerships for learning 

Our conferences are face to face with the option for parents/carers to conduct a virtual conference if that better meets their needs. 

In addition to these conferences, we would like to remind parents and carers that they can discuss their child’s progress at any time during the year with teachers. Feedback on learning is one of the most useful ways to improve student learning. 

Where appropriate, we encourage parents/carers to share a summary of their conferences with their children to celebrate the learning that has occurred and ensure that next steps are also clear.
