Grade 3/4 Students

Celebrating our tremendous Threes and fabulous Fours !

3/4A - Mrs Bryant

For National Reconciliation Week, 3/4A completed a reflection that is now displayed in our classroom. The hands represent what we can do, the heart what we feel, and the head what we think about what happened.

We also had a lot of fun preparing our assembly item: an acrostic poem to celebrate our amazing grandparents. We can’t wait to share more with you soon!

3/4B - Miss Brook

Gardening is back!

Last week, we were very lucky to meet Dave! Dave has taken over Claire’s position in cooking and gardening. He shared some amazing stories about his life, and we also got to see a few of his many talents including juggling and acting! We jumped out into Zone 4 and helped make a start on the mulching of the gardens in that area.

3/4C - Mr Lewis

This week the students have been busy researching the history of Monty Primary. This has involved using primary and secondary sources to gather information. This is Charlotte’s information poster, which also includes the lyrics to the old school song.

In Writing, the students have been learning how to structure information reports. As a class, we watched a short video about bees and then we categorised the information into sub topics. Here is Arjan’s amazing ‘buzzing bees’ information report.

3/4D - Mr Mitch

This week in 3/4D, we have begun crafting our 100 years of Montmorency Primary School Brochures. The students have been analysing primary and secondary resources and identifying the type of community in which they reside (Vianne C., Osha W.).

During Reading, we have been practicing the VCOP skill of revising and editing. This activity required the students to address errors in punctuation and replace boring words with ‘wow’ words (Elliot B.).

3/4E - Miss Margarita

We have been working hard to master our subtraction strategies and to challenge ourselves by taking it further and working towards our personal maths goals. Here are some examples of the work we have been doing in 3/4E- difference between, missing addends, jump strategy, vertical subtraction with trading/renaming/internal zeros and decreasing number lines (with some students using decimals). I have been so impressed by the determination and tenacity students have shown in Maths this term. They are all superstars!
