Dear Playgroup Families,
Spring is in the air – the mornings are lighter and brighter, the birds are singing and the wildflowers are in bloom. After the cool and dark of winter it is time to embrace the awakening of the world. During our last week of playgroup for the term we celebrated the changing of the seasons with a sweet spring time story about at little boy being awoken from his sleep by two sun fairies and their adventures in his garden to meet dear Lady Spring.
Celebrating the seasons with the young children is one way to enrich their lives and highlight our connection to the natural world. Just as nature is coming alive now, so is our children’s energy – they are full of life, enthusiasm and are keen to play outdoors. A growing body of research shows just how important it is for young children to spend uninterrupted time to play outside and the natural world provides the perfect antidote to our screen and device focused world. In the great outdoors children can explore all of their senses, move their bodies freely, discover awe and wonder in the everyday and learn how to care for the world around them. It’s the perfect time of year to be outside with your little ones!
We thank you all the families for a lovely term and hope you all have a restful spring holidays. Term 4 will commence on Tuesday the 8th of October.
Blessings,
Linnea, Jemima and Caitlin
