Years 2 & 3
POETRY
Despite our numbers being down due to illnesses, the remaining students wrote wonderful poems entitled 'Walking Through the Bush', using their 5 senses.
Walking through the bush Walking through the bush
What do I see? What do I see?
A kangaroo jumping towards me A waterfall
A twig and a bee. Falling above me.
Walking through the bush Walking through the bush
What do I hear? What do I hear?
A deer trotting I hear a deer
Loud and clear. Loud and clear.
Walking through the bush Walking through the bush
What do I smell? What do I smell?
Emu poo Some blossom bright and yellow
And an old egg shell. And an old egg shell.
Walking through the bush Walking through the bush
What do I feel? What do I feel?
Leaves tickling my face Sticks poking my heel
I do like their feel. I don't like their feel.
Walking through the bush Walking through the bush
What do I say? What do I say?
I love walking here I want to do this
I could do this all day. All day.

Walking through the bush
What do I see?
A blue wren flying to trees
All around me.
Walking through the bush
What do I hear?
An emu walking over leaves
So loud and clear.
Walking through the bush
What do I smell?
Honey blossoms blooming
All over the ground
Walking through the bush
What do I feel?
Leaves dropping water
And sticks tripping me over heal.
Walking through the bush
What do I say?
Hip, hip hooray
Today's the best day!!!!!!!!!!
