Congratulations to Mrs Milton on the safe arrival of her Baby. Amelia and Ash welcomed their beautiful baby daughter Charlotte Maeve into the world last week on Monday 26th August. We wish the Milton family all the best.
Last Friday students from Year 6 ran our Father’s Day Stall. There was a range of items available for students to purchase and we hope all the dad’s loved what was selected for them. Below is a prayer for all fathers:
Prayer for Fathers on Father’s Day
Heavenly Father,
You entrusted your Son Jesus, the child of Mary,
to the care of Joseph, his foster father.
Bless all fathers and grandfathers
as they care for their families.
Give them strength and wisdom, tenderness and patience,
give them the ability to love in a way that reflects your love.
Support them in the work they have to do,
protecting those who look to them,
as we look to you for love and salvation.
Bless and heal all those who live without their fathers
and grant an eternal rest to our fathers who you have called
from this life to yourself
Through Jesus Christ Lord. Amen
Congratulations to our Year 6 students who received their Sacrament of Confirmation on Friday 23rd of August. Both Bishop Martin and Fr Anton commented on how well the students had been prepared by their families and their teachers. Thank you also to the St John’s Sacramental Choir for your time and dedication. Your support of our sacramental celebrations is greatly appreciated.
Last week our students in Year 3 & 4 participated in a water safety and swimming program at AquaPulse in Hoppers Crossing. The facility had a separate entrance for schools and all the instructors were able to engage with students of all swimming abilities. As you can see from the pictures below, the students had a terrific week at the pool.
There is a growing body of research showing that participating in intergenerational activities has many benefits, including increased dignity and self-esteem, and reduced stress levels and anxiety for those in their retirement years. Our Year 6 students have begun visiting a local Aged Care Facility each fortnight, in small groups. The students visit residents at Homestyle Aged Care Sunset Views Manor and spend two hours chatting with residents and playing Bingo with them.
Please see the image below for more information about joining the waiting list for the Lifelong Learning Centre which will be opening soon at 565 Tarneit Road, Hoppers Crossing

Student Pedestrian Crossing
Children develop the skills and experience to be safe around traffic at different ages, but usually around nine to 13 years old. Young children need to be specifically taught to Stop, Look, Listen and Think when crossing roads. A reminder to all families whose child leaves the school near the roundabout on the corner of Kingbird Ave and Cottesloe Blvd, to please use the supervised Pedestrian Crossing. We have noticed students stepping out onto Kingbird Ave from in between cars. This is a very dangerous practise as drivers are often unable to see children, so we strongly encourage parents to remind their children to use the crossing on Cottesloe Blvd.
Designated Parking Bay
A reminder to parents to please park in the designated parking bays. Line marking was completed by the council early this year and it is an expectation of all drivers to ensure their car is parked correctly within an allocated parking bay.
