SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR
We will be holding our annual St John’s Book Fair during the upcoming Parent Teacher Interviews. Scholastic Rewards is a program created by Scholastic as a way to give back to schools. Whenever families purchase items through Book Club or our Book Fair, St John’s earns reward points. These points are then used by the school to offset the cost of reading materials and classroom resources that we purchase from Scholastic.
EARLY FINISH REMINDER

PREP 2025 TRANSITION SESSIONS
It was wonderful to meet many of the new families who will be joining us next year, at last week’s Prep 2025 Information Session. During the evening we outlined important transition dates and other information necessary for a smooth start to the year.
Below are the times and dates for the three transition sessions. Families will be emailed session times prior to Monday 28th October. Parents please be aware that nonattendance at these Orientation sessions by a student may jeopardise their enrolment in Prep next year.
Session One
Monday 28th October
9:30-11:00 OR 12:00-1:30
Session Two
Monday 11th November
9:30-11:00
Session Three
Monday 18th November
9:30-11:00
Please Note we ask parent to stay onsite to attend a Parent Meeting
2025 CLASS GROUPING REQUESTS
Early in Term 4 staff will begin the process of allocating students to a class for 2025. This is always complex with many factors coming into play and decisions are never made lightly. If you feel you have information which would assist us when planning class groupings for next year, please note that all requests must be in writing to the Principal by Friday 18th October. Parents are reminded that they are unable to request a specific teacher for their child. While all submissions will be considered, families need to be aware we cannot guarantee we will be able to accommodate your request.
MACSIS SURVEYS
Each year all catholic school’s survey students, parents and staff. The data collected through the survey process provides us with valuable feedback and guides the school’s future direction. Students from Year 4-6 will be completing an online survey over the next few weeks. The surveys are conducted by an outside agency, which selects 80 families to complete a survey. The selected families had their survey log in details emailed yesterday, please call the office if you have any issues accessing your survey. A reminder to the 80 families selected that surveys need to be completed prior to Friday 20th September.
YEAR 5 & 6 CAMP
The Year 5 & 6 teachers are in the final stages of organising Camp, which will take place over two days, Thursday 7th and Friday 8th November. This year the students will be participating in an Adventure Camp, where they will have the opportunity to experience a range of outdoor activities. St John’s Senior students attended a camp at this location in 2022 and had a great time. We will be holding a Parent Information Session on Thursday 24th October @ 4:00pm, this meeting will be live streamed for any parents unable to attend in person. At this meeting we will outline the camp itinerary and discuss items students will need to pack.
2024 YEAR 5 & 6 CAMP PAYMENTS
Camp Fees are not part of the payment schedule if you are on a Direct Debit Payment Plan. We are asking families to cover the first $200 of the camp costs, with the school covering any costs above this. All payments are due by the 15th September and can be paid at the office or via credit card over the phone.
ANNUAL REPORT TO THE COMMUNITY (2023)
Each year all Catholic Schools publish their Annual Report for the previous year. St John’s Annual Report is now available and can be accessed via the school website and the link below.
