Prayer

The Eucharistic celebration in Syro-Malabar Rite is called "Holy Qurbana" or "Holy Mass".  The prayers used in the Syro-Malabar Rite services are very ancient, dating back to the 7th century. They have remained unchanged since then and closely resemble the first Eucharistic prayer of the Roman Rite.  The vestments worn during these services are distinct and more regal, reflecting a Persian influence in their origin.

The Mass is traditionally celebrated in Malayalam language.

Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come.

Heaven and earth are full of Your glory.

Hosanna in the highest!

Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest!
