Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” — 2 Corinthians 9:7 (NIV)
Last month, the Year 1 children came together to donate food to Lutheran Care, embodying the spirit of generosity that reflects God’s love. Their heartfelt contributions remind us that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a significant impact in our community.
When we give, we are not just sharing physical items; we are sharing love, compassion, and hope. Each can of food or bag of groceries donated represents a connection to others in need. It shows that we care about our neighbours and are willing to step outside ourselves to help those who may be struggling.
God calls us to be generous, not just with our resources but with our time and love. When we give, we open our hearts to the joys of serving others, and we create opportunities to spread His love in tangible ways. The Year 1's initiative serves as a wonderful example of how even young hearts can understand the importance of community and the joy of giving.
Let’s ask ourselves how we can also contribute to our community. Whether it’s through food donations, volunteering our time, or simply offering a kind word, every act of generosity counts. In sharing our blessings, we demonstrate God’s love to those around us, fostering a spirit of kindness and unity.
