Introducing Rebecca Bradshaw, Adolescent Nurse for Mullauna College

Hello everyone - my name is Rebecca, Mullauna College Adolescent Nurse allocated by the Department of Education.

In collaboration with the Wellbeing team, I will be addressing contemporary health and social issues faced by young people with a focus on health promotion and primary prevention.  I will be posting Health focus material to assist your young people in making practical choices which will benefit their Health and Wellbeing.

I am on Campus every Thursday and Friday and located in the Wellbeing Office!

Why did you decide to become a nurse?

Nursing was what I always wanted to do since Year 12.  After having my children who are now in their teens, I realised this was the area I wanted to specialise in.

How long have you been in the nursing game?

I have been a nurse since 2001.

What was your last place of employment - school/hospital or another organisation?

I worked in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at Cabrini in Malvern.

What do you love most about nursing/teaching?

I love helping young people and educating them on relevant health issues.

What has been one of your best nursing moments?

The day I received a letter of thanks from a patient saying that I had changed their life.

What would be 3 things that you would like your students to

know about you?

  1. I have 2 teenage children.
  2. I worked overseas for 3 years.
  3. I am located at the Wellbeing office.

Where is your favourite holiday destination?

Hawaii

What TV show/series did you last binge watch?

Brooklyn 99

If you could wear Harry’s invisibility cloak for one day, where would you go and what would you do? That’s Harry Potter’s cloak not Harry Ruff’s cloak 😊

I would sneak into the Taylor Swift concert!!

What is the one piece of ‘advice’ or the one thing that you always say to your students?

Always choose kind!

Thank you, and welcome to Mullauna College, Ms Bradshaw!
