February 2024

Introducing George Ng teaching Mathematics, IT including Computer Studies, Programing and Digital Technology.

Why did you decide to become a teacher?

Having gained knowledge and skills through working in the IT industry for some time, I believe it is important to help students develop skills and gain knowledge in IT. Proficiency in IT is beneficial in many contexts of our daily lives.

How long have you been in the teaching game?

In total, I have been teaching for more than 10 years.

What was your last place of employment - school/university or another organisation?

Before joining Mullauna College, I was teaching IT in another secondary school.

What do you love most about teaching?

Helping students overcome challenges and inspiring them in their development.

What has been one of your best teaching moments?

A student whom I taught in a previous year came to thank me for preparing them for the current year’s study.

What would be 3 things that you would like your students to know about you?

  1. I like learning how things work, especially technology-based systems.
  2. I believe in making good use of time.
  3. There is much to explore and experience, wherever I am.

Where is your favourite holiday destination?

Australia. There is so much to see, learn, experience and enjoy.

What TV show/series did you last binge watch?

Jeopardy!   (It is a rather unique quiz show).

If you could wear Harry’s invisibility cloak for one day, where would you go and what would you do? That’s Harry Potter’s cloak not Harry Ruff’s cloak 😊

I would go into a forest to observe animals in their natural habitat.

What is the one piece of ‘advice’ or the one thing that you always say to your students?

It is essential to respect your learning and to respect others’ learning.

Thank you, and welcome to Mullauna College, George!
