Hai semua (Hi everyone)!
We have had an amazing start to our Indonesian lessons this year. Well done to everyone for returning with enthusiasm and ready to have a go!
This term, across the whole school, we will be learning about Indonesian schools and working towards the following learning intentions:
Foundation:
I can use the pronoun ‘saya’ (meaning 'me/my')
I know that Indonesian is spoken in a country called Indonesia
Grade 1:
I can respond to some instructions through actions (such as sitting down, raising hand)
I can express feelings about learning Indonesian
Grade 2:
I can respond to questions beginning with the Indonesian words for 'how many', 'who' and 'where'?
I can use vocabulary related to my home/classroom environment
Grade 3:
- I can interact with Indonesian classroom routines
- I can respond to instructions given in Indonesian
- I can use Indonesian vocabulary related to school
Grade 4:
- I can follow and respond to Indonesian instructions including classroom commands
- I can respond to Indonesian texts using familiar repeated language
- I can interact in structured interactions with teachers and peers
Grade 5:
- I can use possessive pronouns with some accuracy (for example Nama teman saya... - 'My friend's name is...)
- I can describe character and appearance using correct word order
Grade 6:
- I can translate Indonesian texts, relying on familiar words and expressions
- I can respond to increasingly complex questions in Indonesian
