What a big week at TPS

Mr Hogan

We have had a busy week this week, w library visits, Uncle Wayne coming to do an Aboriginal artefact exhibition, visits to Aged Care and culminating today in our Grade 3/4 students heading to the Nathalia Heritage Centre.

Pupil Free Day

A reminder that Monday, March 4th is a Pupil Free Day. Staff will be further developing their Restorative Practices work with our Real Schools expert facilitator, Sheila Bollard.

The following day, Sheila will be here in person working in the classrooms with staff and students.

School's Out

It is great to see families using our School's Out after school care service. We need to keep building this service, as it is a great opportunity for families to balance working commitments, but also increase student socialisation.

The program runs 5 days a week until 6pm, and students get morning tea, and participate in fun, themed based activities in a non-threatening environment.

We encourage families to register their children, as you may never know when you require the service, and the registration process is quick, easy and no commitment to use on a regular basis.

To find out more information or to register, check out their website at:

Increasing enrolments

With the end of February, as a school we need to put in our Enrolment census. In 2023, our student enrolment was 126. This year, our student enrolment is 145, which is a large increase across the school.

Obviously, we have a large cohort of Grade Prep students and new families attending our school, but this is also a reflection of the amazing programs, dedicated teaching staff and outstanding facilities that we have to offer.

With this increase, we are constantly looking for ways to maintain and improve our facilities to ensure we are effectively catering for the larger numbers.

Swimming Week

This is always a fantastic week. It really takes a team effort to ensure the week is run smoothly, and relies heavily on volunteers.

Thank you to all those parents who assisted by walking to and from the school, jumping in the pool to help the instructors and also assisting the students before and after their session.

The week culminates in our Swimming Carnival on Friday. The F-2 students loved being a part of the novelty races, ably assisted by our Grade 6 leaders and KJ. In the 3-6 carnival, the competition was fantastic, and I was so impressed with those students who were not overly comfortable swimming 25 metres, but still jumped in and had a go.

Well done to Kevin M for being awarded the spirit of the carnival winner, for outstanding leadership all day.

The final house results were as follows:

4th - Curr (94)

3rd - O'Dea (101)

2nd - Finlay (119)

1st - Deakin (127)

Congratulations to all involved in a great week.
