School News and Information
Stage 1 News
Great news! Our Stage One students have settled into school life, enjoying activities like the Life Education van and a trip to the 'Keeping Place.' They have been exploring patterns in numbers, shapes, and crafting creative stories. Your children are thriving, and we're excited about their ongoing journey!
MATHS
In Maths, over the last couple of weeks, Stage 1 has been learning about growing and shrinking patterns in both shapes and numbers. We have also learnt about how Geometrical patterns using 2D shapes can be symmetrical.
Here are some photos of Stage 1 building symmetrical patterns, and growing and shrinking patterns.
ENGLISH
This term in English Stage Students explored the purpose and importance of an Acknowledgement of Country and the differences to a Welcome to Country. They made connections to their own context and that of Aboriginal communities across NSW. We read Welcome to Country by Aunty Joy Murphy and illustrated by Lisa Kennedy. This story explains the concept of welcoming ceremonies and their significance to First Nation communities. They then wrote their own personal stories of how they would welcome people into their community.
Stage One also wrote about our special memories.
The Keeping Place Excursion
