Year 3

House Athletics

What a day! A huge congratulations to all of the Year 3 students that participated in their first ever House Athletics Day! We are super proud of all of them giving everything a go and trying their best!

It was great to see the students trying something new, encouraging others, cheering on their peers and giving everything their best shot!

Information will come out to relevant families of any students that will be invited to participate in District Athletics.

Year 3 Camp

We are now under a month until students are jumping on the bus and heading towards their first School Camp! There is still lots of planning and organising to do before then though!

A reminder that the payment required for camp, and the information required alongside this, is due on Compass on 6th March.

Students have also brought home an information sheet and Medical Form. This form needs to be returned to the classroom teacher even if your child does not require medication. If your child takes medication daily, please fill in the relevant information. If your child does not take medication, please just write 'N/A' in the table on the front, and sign the back. Please return these to school as soon as possible.

Students are getting incredibly excited and although it might be a daunting experience for some of them, it's important to talk highly about camp at home and the amazing time they are going to have!

If you have any further questions, please contact your child's classroom teacher or Kate Yates (Camp Coordinator and Year 3 Team Leader).

Contacting Teachers

A reminder that if you are required to pick your child up from school during the day for any reason, to please email the classroom teacher. This will help us ensure that students are ready at the office with their bags packed.

If your child is going to be away from school for any reason, we ask you put this onto Compass, so we are aware of their absence when completing the roll in the morning.

Late Sign In

We have had a few incidents of parents calling the school at the beginning of the day, saying their child has been marked as absent. It is incredibly important that if your child gets to school after the second bell, then a parent or guardian signs the students in at the office.

The classroom teacher usually does the roll first thing in the morning, so even if your child is only a few minutes late, the teacher will have expected them to be signed in.

If you are worried about your child being marked as absent, or if you are unable to sign them in when you drop them off, please ensure that they arrive at school before the bells (8.55am).

Year 4

Incursion

Last week, all students in Year 4 were treated to a magnificent performance by 'Meerkat Productions' as part of their Term 1 Inquiry units.

The students watched Bully Bull Ring, where characters acted out situations of bullying and taught the students strategies on how to peacefully deal with such situations.

House Athletics Carnival

What a fantastic day! Thursday’s House Athletics Day was a great success! The weather was wonderful, and the students had a blast competing in a variety of track and field events. The atmosphere was amazing as the students supported and cheered on their peers.

Year 4 Camp

Just a reminder that the Year 4 Camp will be taking place from Wednesday, 10th of May until Friday, 12th of May at Camp Oasis in Mt Evelyn. Payment for the camp will be open on Compass on the 12th March. The camp provides a wonderful opportunity for students to participate in a range of team-building, social, indoor and outdoor activities whilst having a great time with their school peers.

Mathematics

This week the students have been learning about using formal and informal units to calculate the length of various objects.
