We are learning to explore our weather and the symbols that represent the weather.

VOCABULARY

Weather: the sun, wind, rain, storms and clouds that influence the temperature. 

Symbols: the pictures used to show what the weather is like. 

Seasons: there are four seasons in our year - Summer, Autumn, Winter and Spring. 

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

When getting ready in the morning, discuss what the weather looks like outside - Is it cloudy, sunny, windy, raining, hot?

You might even watch the weather forecast during the news, and discuss the symbols that they use. Was the weather different to the weather forecast?
