P.E. News

What a huge start to the year it has been in PE!

In Week 4, the 3/4s had a visit from a few of the Western Bulldogs players, including Tony Liberatore. They had the opportunity to participate in a Q & A session with the players, as well as a couple of football training drills.

Oscar from 3/4 M tried out his tackling skills, trying to take down one of the players and some of the teachers thought Christmas had come early, being rather starstruck in the presence of one of the Bulldogs most popular players!

It was amazing to see everyone’s hard work pay off at our House Athletics Day in Week 5. Students from Foundation to Year 6 were able to participate in a range of track and field events to compete for their House; Spielvogal (Yellow), Dunne (Red), Baker (Blue) and Martin (Green).

The ‘Weather God’s’ were on our side and although it was still a warm day, the cloud cover managed to reduce the the heat, allowing us to run most of the scheduled events for the day.

We look forward to being able to announce a winner for our Athletics Day at an upcoming assembly very soon and celebrate the House who scored the most points on the day.

A huge congratulations to everyone who participated on the day; staff, students and parents alike. It was a HUGE team effort and everyone worked hard to ensure it was a very successful and enjoyable day for all!

During Physical Education classes this year, students have worked diligently to consistently display the 5 key attributes that their class agreed were important elements of a safe, happy and inclusive Physical Education environment (and worthy of a HIGH 5). Some of the attributes highlighted by classes include ‘being a good sport’, ‘being a risk taker and having a red hot go’, ‘being safe’, ‘being responsible’, ‘being cooperative’, ‘being good listeners’ and ‘being kind, encouraging and inclusive’.

Keep up the AMAZING work everyone and remember…

In PE, we’re not a class, we’re a TEAM! 😊
