Hello Sunshine Families, 

SCHOOL PHOTOS

This week we had our school photos! The day was hectic but just lovely with most of our students having their picture taken! We managed to have all our students in our Sunshine SDS uniform too. We are really grateful to our Photographer Ken who moved around the school to take the photos of some of our students who found the transition to the photo room a little too much.

If your child was absent that’s ok - Ken will be back next term to catch up on those missed.

NEW OFFICE STAFF

Next week we will introduce you to our new Reception staff member Alek. We held interviews this week and are looking forward to Alek joining us in the important position of Receptionist.

HALF WAY THROUGH OUR TERM

By now our families should have all participated in the Term 1 SSG and received your child's Learning Timetable - let your child's teacher know if you have missed these so we can arrange for them with you.  Your child's Individual Education Plan, consulted on with you at the SSG - will be sent home soon.

SWIMMING UPDATE

Our swimming program is going so well. I visited the Sunshine Pool last week and saw the enjoyment and happiness the warm pool brings our students. It is often a little challenging getting our kids out of the pool and into the change rooms when the sessions are over - no wonder.

Some families have expressed concerns that the students can become unwell after using the pool. I'm unsure about that but l absolutely encourage all our students to participate because the fun of the experience is so wonderful to see. 

Wishing all our families a safe and happy long weekend and we look forward to seeing our students back next Tuesday.
