Celebrating Harmony and Diversity at Highton PS
This week, Highton PS came alive as we embraced the vibrant tapestry of cultures that make up our wonderful school community.
As an IB PYP school, we take immense pride in celebrating our differences and fostering a spirit of global citizenship. These celebrations align perfectly with our commitment to developing open-minded learners who appreciate the diverse world around them.
Our classrooms buzzed with excitement as students and families shared their countries of origin and cultural beliefs. We were especially moved by the involvement of our parents and carers—your contributions truly brought our learning to life.
Highlights from the week included:
- Cultural Presentations: A huge thank you to the families who visited our classrooms. Your informative and interactive presentations enriched student learning and fostered a deep appreciation for different heritages.
- The Harmony Day Picnic: It was wonderful to see so many families enjoying the Billy Tea Bush Band. A special thank you to our Student Leaders for leading the way on the dance floor—the turnout was fantastic.
- A Dazzling Thursday: Our community showed incredible pride on Thursday, wearing traditional outfits, flag colours, or orange—the official colour of Harmony Week.
Thank you to all our families for your active participation. Your support made Harmony Week a resounding success!
