Year 1 Update

Upcoming Learning -Term 2, Weeks 4 & 5

During the next fortnight, Year 1 students will be undertaking learning in the following areas:

Reading	Students continue to engage in literacy activities using the Little Learners Love Literacy program. Our digraph focus is the long ‘i’ including i-e, i, y, ie, igh
Writing	Students are learning about punctuation and persuasive writing, including author’s purpose, text structure and language. They continue to work on their handwriting.
Maths	Students are learning about Money, including Australian coins and notes, the features of our money, and counting money. They are revising telling the time to the hour and learning about half hour, and duration of time.
Inquiry	Students are exploring communities including their classroom, school, community groups they belong to and community helpers. We are having a visit from the Fire Brigade and about First Aid.
SEL	Students are investigating how to have a growth mindset and active bodies through challenges and activities in the classroom and outside.
