6-8 Sport Pilot Program

Our Year 6-8 students have eagerly embraced our new Sport Pilot Program, where they’ve been progressing their skills, developing confidence, and experiencing personal growth in areas of passion and interest. Check out these highlights, and we hope you can find yourself among them!

Secondary Athletics

On Friday 26 April, we held our annual Secondary Athletics Carnival. It was great to see students across multiple year levels come together, wearing their house colours, cheering on friends and peers. Despite a cool and windy start to the morning, students walked down to Jack Eddy Oval ready to give it their all and have a fun day. They were eager to witness Year 12 students attempting to run, jump, and throw with their costumes on!

A highlight of the day was Meninya House Captain, James Head breaking the Open Boys High Jump record by 9cm, jumping a whopping 1.78 (taller than Miss James). It was wonderful to see the whole Secondary School moving over to the high jump mats to get behind him and cheer him on! Congratulations James. Other records broken include 13 & U Boys 100m and Triple Jump by Phoenix Wise, the Open Girls Shot Put by Paige Looney, and the 16 & U Girls Relay by Chanter House.

Of course, the day couldn’t have run without the immense help from staff. A massive thank you to Mr McMahon for his organisation to run a successful carnival, and to all Secondary staff for helping run their respective events to keep the day operating smoothly! We would like to congratulate all students who were successful in their events and took out their group’s Age Champion medal:

Primary Cross Country

On Monday 29 April, the Primary School gathered at our school oval ready to run in the Cross Country Carnival. Starting with the Kinder students, and moving up to our Grade 6’s, all students were keen to get running and cheer on their houses! A highlight of the afternoon was seeing the Year 6’s cheering on our Kinders as they crossed the finish line. Some even joined them on the run to encourage them to keep going until the end, showing the great comradery between our year levels. A massive thank you to Mr McMahon and Mr Cadd for organising the carnival and setting up the tracks. Thanks to our Year 11 and 12 student leaders for being at checkpoints and on bikes, showing the students where to go and encouraging them to keep running!
