Michael Maddalena selected for Met North Tennis Team

 

We are thrilled to announce that Michael Maddalena has been selected to represent the 10-12 Years Metropolitan North Tennis Team. Michael's skills have earned him a coveted spot among the top four players, outshining 20 other talented boys who trialled for the team.

 

As a member of the Met North Tennis Team, Michael will compete at the upcoming Queensland School Sport State Tennis Championships. This prestigious event is scheduled to take place from 13 June to 16 June 2024, at the Queensland Tennis Centre in Tennyson.

 

Michael's selection is a testament to his hard work, perseverance, and passion for the sport. We congratulate him on this remarkable achievement and wish him the best of luck as he prepares to represent Met North at the state level.

Talie'e Hampton Selected for Queensland School Sport Netball Team

 

In exciting news, Talie'e Hampton, one of our talented Open Netball team members, has been named in the 15 Years and Under Queensland Netball Team, securing a sought after sport to compete at the School Sport Australia National Championships on the Gold Coast later this year. 

 

Talie'e's selection is a tribute to her dedication and talent on the court. Her hard work and commitment to excellence in Netball have been duly recognised, and we couldn't be prouder of her achievement.

 

As Talie'e gears up to represent Queensland on the national stage, the College community rallies behind her with support. With her skill and determination, there's no doubt she'll do us proud as she steps onto the court to compete against the best.

Christina Anictomatis: Selected to compete at the Australian Gymnastics Championships 

 

As the anticipation builds for the 2024 Australian Gymnastics Championships, all eyes are fixed on the Gold Coast Sports and Leisure Centre, the venue where Gymnastics Australia will host this year's event. Among the lineup of talented gymnasts poised to shine in the Junior International competition is Christina Anictomatis, a prominent member of the Clayfield College QGSSSA Open Gymnastics team. 

 

As the countdown to the 2024 WAG Australian Championships continues, our dedicated athletes will devote hours to perfecting their routines. Their relentless pursuit of excellence is aimed at delivering unforgettable performances on the national stage. 

 

CC Sport and the Clayfield College community stand firmly behind our gymnasts, including Christina Anictomatis, Lindsay Webb, and Iara Chaves knowing they are prepared to shine on the national stage. We extend our wishes to all our talented ladies as they prepare to showcase their skills at the forthcoming Championships.

Britton Shield Cross Country 

 

The atmosphere is building on the oval as the boy’s train for their upcoming Britton Shield Cross Country competition. Our runners are in their final stages of preparation and are ready to take the fields in Ipswich. Spectators are encouraged to come and support the competitors. Please see below for event specifics.

Competition Time: 10:30am – 12:50pm 

Venue: Limestone Park, Ipswich

Grace Hunter triumphs at the City District Cross Country Trials; Lainey Madders secures Top 10 Finish 

 

Grace Hunter secured victory in the 11 Years category at the City Districts Cross Country Trials held on Tuesday, 30 April, at the Brisbane Grammar School, Northgate Sports Fields. Displaying remarkable endurance, Grace took an early lead and maintained her position, crossing the finish line convincingly in first place. Her performance was nothing short of impressive. 

 

Not to be outdone, Lainey Madders secured a commendable 6th place finish in the fiercely competitive 10 Years category.  

 

With their outstanding performances, both Grace and Lainey have earned the opportunity to represent City District at the upcoming Met North Cross Country trials scheduled for late May.
