The benefits of incursions
At the ELC, we love bringing learning to life with engaging incursions throughout the year.
These special experiences are designed to spark curiosity, deepen understanding and inspire new ways of thinking. Whether they connect to our current program or introduce fresh ideas for exploration, incursions create exciting opportunities for our young learners.
When external educators and performers visit, they bring unique expertise, perspectives, and hands-on experiences that enrich the children’s learning in ways that everyday activities might not.
WHY INCURSIONS MATTER
- Makes learning come alive - Incursions introduce new topics in a dynamic and interactive way, encouraging children to explore, ask questions and engage with the world around them. Hands-on activities and sensory experiences cater to different learning styles, making each session memorable.
- Supports holistic development:
- Cognitive growth – Children expand their knowledge in areas such as science, the arts and cultural awareness.
- Social skills – Children ask questions, share ideas and express themselves. Interacting with new people helps build their confidence and communication skills.
- Physical development – Movement-based incursions, such as dance, drama and sports, support both fine and gross motor skills.
