Term 1 Wrap-up

It’s hard to believe that we’ve reached the end of the term! The weeks have flown by since we launched into the 2025 school year in late January and welcomed many parents onto campus for various welcome morning teas and information evenings. Our school is always buzzing with activity, and that helps explain how quickly the term has passed.

As we wrap up the term, I want to take a moment to reflect on the many achievements and special moments that have brought us together as a school community.

COMMUNITY FAIR

One of the highlights was undoubtedly our Community Fair. It was heartwarming to see students, parents, staff, friends and visitors come together to celebrate, connect and enjoy a day full of activities.

The camaraderie and school spirit were truly inspiring, and I extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to making the event such a success.

BARRING-BULUK OFFICIALLY OPENS

This term also marked a significant milestone for our school with the official re-opening of our newly renovated classrooms, now named Barring-buluk (many footprints).

It was fitting that Willie Pepper from the Boonwurrung Land and Sea Council conducted a traditional smoking ceremony as part of the opening, and our Junior School students had the opportunity to participate in this ritual that dates back thousands of years.

This space is already a vibrant hub for both students and staff, and we're excited about the opportunities it will provide for teaching and learning. We are incredibly grateful for the support that made this project possible and look forward to the positive impact it will have for years to come.

JAZZ CABARET

Another standout event was our Jazz Cabaret evening, a spectacular showcase of musical talent and creativity. The evening was filled with outstanding performances, highlighting the dedication and skill of our students and staff. It was truly a night to remember, and I congratulate all those who took part in making it a resounding success.

SPORT GALORE

On the sporting front, we witnessed wonderful displays of effort, teamwork and perseverance.

The Senior School House Athletics and Swimming competitions were a great showcase of talent and school spirit, with students pushing themselves to achieve personal bests and cheering each other on with enthusiasm.

Likewise, our Junior School students showed great determination and sportsmanship in the House Cross Country event, demonstrating resilience and a commitment to doing their best.

Additionally, our team secured fourth place in Division 1 at the EISM swimming championships, a remarkable achievement given the size of some of the competing schools.

THANK YOU

As we wrap up the term, I want to extend my gratitude to our dedicated teachers and staff for their unwavering commitment to our students’ learning and wellbeing.

To our students, well done on your efforts and achievements—whether in the classroom, on the sporting fields, or in the many activities that make our school such a dynamic place.

To our families, thank you for your ongoing support and partnership in education.

I wish you all a restful and enjoyable break, and I look forward to welcoming everyone back for another exciting term ahead, with Senior School camps heading out as soon as we start back.
